Elephant Ring

Story

The elephant ring is made from recycled brass by artisans in Africa using traditional techniques. Unemployment in the craft sector is very high, but there are many people striving to create a difference through their social mission-driven small businesses.

This ring is made in collaboration with our artisan partner, Shiku, who recycles discarded taps, old coins and brass casts that would have otherwise ended up in the junkyard. Sustainability and women empowerment is always our priority at Safi, we love working with female artisans and we love the concept of taking something forgotten and turning it into something beautiful and new. 

Our team of jewelry artisans are inspiring and we are happy to be able to support them in their journey. Every Safi purchase provides free skill training, consistent employment, and resources for artisans through the safi craft kit web app.
